Ru Bhikha, mobiles expert at Uswitch.com, comments: “This year has seen the rise of the mid-range smartphone market, and now Samsung joins Apple and Google in launching the S20 Fan Edition, a little brother for the S20.

“At £699 for the 5G version and £599 for the 4G model, the S20 FE is significantly cheaper than the £899 S20, and you get a bigger 6.5-inch 120Hz screen as well.

“The S20 FE also upstages its sibling with a better battery life, boasting a so-called ‘all day’ 4,500mAh capacity.

“The FE’s triple camera set-up also trumps the similarly priced iPhone SE single snapper, with a 12MP wide lens, 12MP ultrawide and 8MP telephoto.

“There’s plenty of other nifty photography tools too, with a 30x ‘space zoom’, a super-steady mode and a single-take feature that helps you capture the best shot from a burst of 14 pictures.

“Finding a 32MP selfie camera away from the top end of the market is no easy feat but the S20 FE ticks this box, matching the top-end Huawei P40’s front-facing lens.

“The S20 FE 5G is an impressive package, and for those who don’t want to spend £1,000 on a smartphone, it could become a credible ‘lite’ option for Samsung fans.”
