Sky is increasing broadband prices by £3 a month for almost all of its customers in April 2026, including those who are mid-contract.

Sky TV prices are also going up between £1-3 a month, depending on the specific TV package.

This price increase is at the same time as all other major UK broadband providers, who regularly increase prices around this time of year for both in-contract and out-of-contract customers.

However, Sky does broadband and TV price increases differently from other providers:

  1. Sky doesn't include a set annual price increase in its contract terms.
  2. As a result, any customer affected can cancel their contract early and find a new broadband deal. However, this does not apply to Sky TV contracts.

Is your Sky bill going up?

If Sky has notified you of a broadband price increase and you're still in contract, you have up to 30 days to cancel your contract early for free and switch to a new provider.

If you're already out of contract, you can switch anytime. Search with your postcode to see what's available in your area today.

How much is the 2026 Sky price increase?

Sky is increasing broadband prices by £3 a month for existing customers in April 2026. It's the first year it has chosen a flat rate increase in pounds and pence, having previously used a percentage (6.2% in 2025).

This rate applies to your bill regardless of the current monthly amount you pay. So customers on cheaper plans will see a higher proportional increase than those on more expensive ones.

Sky TV customers will see an additional price increase to their services in April 2026. The amount specified is between £1-3 a month, depending on how 'premium' your TV package is.

So, if you pay for Sky broadband and TV, your monthly prices could increase by up to £6.

Am I affected by the 2026 Sky broadband price increase?

Sky's price increases affect the vast majority of its broadband and TV customers.

This means that when it announces a new price increase, it will likely apply to you unless you meet one of two particular conditions:

  1. You're identified by the provider as 'vulnerable'
  2. You're on the Sky Broadband Basics social tariff

When do Sky prices go up?

Despite Sky not mentioning annual price increases in its contract terms, it still usually increases prices every year.

These price rises apply to your first bill after 1 April. So all customers affected by this mid-contract price hike will see their first increased monthly rate on their April bill.

Can I cancel my Sky contract?

If you’re affected by Sky’s price increase, you are allowed to leave your contract early without paying a cancellation fee - but only within 30 days from the price increase announcement date.

If you pay for Sky TV, though, this policy doesn't apply. So you'd have to pay early termination fees if you want to cancel your TV contract before it ends. This also applies if you pay for a broadband and TV bundle – you'll be able to cancel your broadband for free, but will likely have to move onto a TV-only tariff with Sky.

Most providers don't let you leave your contract early for free after a price increase, but just be mindful that other providers increase their prices annually, too. So you might still face a price increase if you switch to a different provider.

However, some providers don't increase their prices mid-contract at all. So if deals from any of these providers are available at your home, you might be able to secure a consistent price for the duration of your contract.

Should I stay with Sky?

If you have a TV contract added to your Sky broadband subscription, you might have a tough decision to make.

Other broadband providers like BT and Virgin Media offer equally comprehensive TV services, but if you're loyal to Sky TV, it might make sense to stick with its broadband service too, so you can keep the two services bundled into one bill.

However, if you've been looking to leave Sky anyway and your contract is approaching an end - or if you're just a broadband customer - now might be the perfect time to switch. You may soon be able to change broadband providers straight away at no extra cost.

Not ready to switch just yet?

Why is Sky increasing prices?

Unlike most other providers, Sky doesn't include a set annual price hike in its terms and conditions.

But that doesn't stop Sky from raising its prices almost every year (as all other providers do), even though its deals show an initial monthly fee. So why do they do this?

The two main reasons Sky issues a yearly price increase are roughly the same as other providers:

  • The inflation rate & rising operating costs
  • Upgrades and expansions to its broadband and mobile networks

Both of these drive up business costs year over year, which is why they often pass some of that cost on to customers through price hikes. But this still puts customers in a difficult situation.

Sky end of contract price hike

An annual price hike while you’re mid-contract isn’t the only increase to your bills you should be aware of. Once your contract ends, Sky will likely increase your monthly price by a larger amount.

Broadband providers are allowed to significantly increase your bill once your contract ends, because your agreed period with them has finished, and you’re free to find a new broadband deal with just one month’s notice.

However, as a result, providers must now inform their customers when their contracts are coming to an end. So make sure to watch for a notification from Sky that your fixed term is ending. Once you receive that message, you can start looking for new broadband deals.

How can I contact Sky?

While switching can save you money, you might still want to stay with Sky if you’re happy with your service — especially if you’re subscribed to one of Sky’s TV packages — but that doesn’t mean you have to stay silent.

If you want to let Sky know you’re unhappy with the price increases, or if you’d like to try to haggle a better deal, you can contact Sky in several ways:

  • Phone (Sky cancellation contact number): Sky’s complaints line is 0330 041 3875. Calls to this number are free for Sky Mobile and Sky Talk customers; however, charges may apply if you’re calling from a different provider.
  • Online: You can reach Sky Experts on its contact page.
  • X: The @SkyHelpTeam account is available from 8am to 10pm on weekdays and 9am to 9pm on weekends.

Sky price rises FAQs

Can Sky increase my bill without telling me?

No - Sky mentions in its terms and conditions that prices may go up during your contract term. If your broadband provider ever increases your prices without letting you know, or by a higher amount than specified, you should be able to leave your contract early penalty-free.

How can I avoid the Sky price increase?

Sky is one of the few broadband providers that lets you cancel your contract early at no extra charge if they increase your prices mid-contract. However, you only have a 30-day window from when they get in touch with you to do so.

This notification usually comes in February, so make sure to keep an eye out for any communications from Sky in this month.
