For over a decade, Max has been publishing consumer advice and product reviews online. This started as the website editor of his university's newspaper, then as the blog manager for a UK consumer tech retailer in his early career. For the past six years, he has led Uswitch's broadband editorial division, which provides helpful advice and expert guidance across all parts of a broadband service.

When was the last time you switched?
I switched broadband recently because I was moving home. It was to a 12-month contract, so I'll be reviewing my options again in a year's time.
What type of broadband do you use?
I live in a flat that's connected to full fibre. So I get to enjoy a super consistent connection and the same upload speed as my download speed.
Are you a gamer or a streamer?
I'm always looking to watch new films I've not yet seen, I watch a lot of live sport and I'm constantly listening to music when I'm at home. I'd have to say streamer.
“Make sure to check if you're out of contract. Or if you're still in contract, keep note of when it's due to end.
Providers often increase your monthly price quite dramatically when you fall out of contract, but you can avoid this by switching (or re-contracting) within a month of your end date.
Plus, new customer deals are usually cheaper than any re-contract offer your current provider will give you. So make sure to shop around and explore your options before making a decision.”
